Your Kiddo Afraid of Bedtime Monsters? Gotta' Read This...

You know the drill. You put your child to bed, tuck him/her in, say goodnight, leave the room, then called back in to check under the bed for "monsters".

You check under the bed, in the closet but no monster. Your little one swears it is there. How do you convince your very imaginative child that the very scary monster is not there?

I recently stumbled upon an awesome, interactive storybook, Matthew's Monsters by Stephanie Sisler. I'm so glad I did!

The story is about a 6 year old freckled little boy, Matthew and his quest to find the five scary monsters he keeps imagining.

This 31 page book is now one of my daughter's favorites. Not only does it tell a story, but it teaches colors and color word recognition, counting and has pages that your child can finish coloring in.

Matthew's Monsters ends with Matthew realizing that the noises in fact were not at all what he imagined. A message that your child is sure to find comforting.

I have never recommended a book prior to this, yet Matthew's Monsters is truly a must-read and one I really wanted to share with Family Made Simple moms and dads.

So, we are giving an author-signed book, color-in t-shirt (size m 10-12) and fabric markers...for FREE!

  1. This sounds like a great book that I think my son would love to read... He has a tent which goes over his bed and is convinced that the tent will "protect" him from the night monsters!!

  2. My 5 year old is so afraid that she crys half the night (waking her 2 year old brother as well as mom) and we had to put her matteress on the floor so "the monsters under the bed" wouldnt get her. She has no closet in her room (thank goodness!)but she still seems to think something is hiding in her room. This book may help ease her mind so the nightmares and fears of being eaten at bed time will stop.
