Time Capsule Ornament
Tosha, owner of Sweet Lilly Delights, has shared this Time Capsule ornament idea and blog post with us. Thanks Tosha! ~Tessa
So we all know that Christmas is RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!!
So with that in mind, I have been trying to think of some fun things that the kids could make as ornaments for our tree. I have been thinking, and thinking, googling, and googling and I found something that I want to share with you.
Time Capsule Ornament- this is a super simple ornament that you can do for a babies 1st Christmas, or any year that you would like. It is something that you and your little one can grow with, as well as something that is cheap to make.
Materials that you will need (keep note that you can also click on the link above and view the directions for this lovely ornament as well):
Materials that you will need (keep note that you can also click on the link above and view the directions for this lovely ornament as well):
- Fillable clear plastic ornament (you can get these at any craft store)
- Double sided tape (again something you can get at a craft store, or Walmart)
- Ribbon of your choice
- Scrapbooking paper (cut in to strips)
- Small photos or other memorabilia that fits inside the ball (this is optional)
Directions:
- Separate the two halves of the ball. Apply a strip of tape around the outside of the wider half. Carefully press the ribbon to the tape so that it's close to but not touching the outer edge.
- Write notes on the strips of scrapbooking paper, then roll them up and tuck them inside the ball. Add pictures, a photocopy of your child's newborn footprint, and other mementos, if you like. Put the ball back together, then tie some ribbon and a tag with the year written on it onto the plastic loop.
Family Made Simple moms, that's it! Super simple right??
This is super cute! I wanted to invite you to come link up at TGIF, a kid oriented Linky Party: http://livinglifeintentionally.blogspot.com/search/label/Linkey%20Parties
